Message From the Principal
Hello Holy Trinity families;
For September, the monthy focus of our "Nourish New Beginnings" spiritual theme is "Gather". This is a perfect sub-theme for September as we welcome all students back to a new year, and gather together in classes, clubs, teams, assemblies, and in the cafeteria each day. Two weeks in, classes are building community and developing a shared understanding of their unique group dynamic. What unites us all at Holy Trinity is our inclusivity and a desire to ensure that all students feel they belong. Trinity is all of us and everyone is welcome!
So much is going on at Trinity already. Many sports, clubs, and associations have had or are planning their first meetings/tryouts. We encourage all students to consider participating in an extracurricular activity. It's a great way to meet new people and have fun!
Next Thursday, September 17, all parents/guardians are invited to the school for our "Meet the Teacher" event. Please bring a copy of your child's timetable with you, or download a copy from the Parent Portal. Students can also access their schedule via their mystudentinfo.ca account. Parents/Guardians will follow their child's timetable (for Gr. 7/8 students, it is their Thursday timetable, and for Gr. 9-12 students it is their semester 1 timetable), meeting their teachers as they move from class to class. Please keep in mind that this is simply a cordial meet and greet as classes have just begun. Once we are further into 1st semester/term, there will be an opportunity for more detailed data/information at Parent/Guardian-Teacher Interview night. We hope you are able to join us on Thursday.
Lastly, I'd like to once again recognize Gr. 12 student Justin-Peter Ammar. You may recall that Justin was elected as one of the two OCSB Student Trustees for this year. As part of his official duties, Justin sits on the OCSB Board of Trustees for their bi-weekly meetings, and he co-leads the Student Senate meetings. Justin is also looking forward to liaising with this year's Holy Trinity Student Council to make it a great year, and to ensure that student voice is heard at the Board level. We are so proud of all of our Trinity students, and this year we are especially proud of Justin as he embraces this new and important role. Congratulations, Justin!

Final Assessments – Exams and RSTs – School Year Calendar
Grade 9 - 12 students’ examinations and Rich Summative Tasks (RSTs) WILL NOT be rescheduled for holiday or travel convenience, and all appointments should be scheduled so as not to conflict with exams and RSTs. If a medical problem arises, a Vice Principal must be contacted prior to the exam or RST. Medical certificates will be required to permit alternate arrangements for final examinations in these cases.
Students and Parents/Guardians can refer to the OCSB website for the Grade 9 - 12 calendar. These calendars identify the first and last day of school, PD days, Statutory Holidays, Board Holidays, and High School exams. As a general rule, it is prudent to avoid any planned student absences during the months of January and June as this is when RSTs and exams are scheduled.

HT Parent Council Meeting and Nominations
Our first Council meeting will be this Tuesday, September 15th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm in the Learning Commons at Holy Trinity. The first part of the meeting will be dedicated to electing the Holy Trinity School Council for 2026-2027. If you would like to be considered for a position on this year’s School Council, please use the following link to complete the form by Sunday, September 13 at 8pm. Student Services Updates
Course Change Requests
All course change requests must be done through my.studentinfo.ca. Please do not email course change requests. Priority will be given to grade 11 and 12 students, especially those who have missed a prerequisite, need a change based on summer school, or need a level or pathway change. The deadline to request any course changes is Monday, September 14th, 2026. Please note that due to schedule constraints, students in grades 9 and 10 are not able to make elective changes, as was indicated at course selection time.

International Languages Secondary Credit Program

International & Indigenous Languages Program – Elementary

The International & Indigenous Languages Program - Elementary is open to students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 from all school boards, offering a welcoming environment where students can explore a new language or strengthen their home language through engaging language-learning activities. 2026–2027 International Languages Programs
OCSB Continuing & Community Education is excited to share that registration is now open for our 2026–2027 International Languages Programs – Elementary and Secondary Credit!
The International Languages Secondary Credit Program gives students in Grades 9–12 the opportunity to earn up to three Ontario secondary school credits while developing their language skills and learning about diverse cultures. With 14 languages available, students can strengthen a home language, continue learning a language they already know, or explore a new one. Classes are offered on Saturdays through in-person and virtual options, from September 19, 2026, to June 5, 2027.
The International Languages Program – Elementary is also available for students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8, offering a welcoming environment where students can explore a new language or strengthen their home language through engaging language learning and activities. Registration is on-going throughout the school year.

How to Report Absences with SafeArrival
Student Fees
Every year, we ask families to pay a student fee. This fee helps subsidize financial costs associated with school activities. This year’s student fee is $35.00. A student fee for families with one student is $35.00 . The student fee for families with two students is $70.00. For each additional student in the family, the fee will increase by $15.00. For example, the fee for three students will be $85.00. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Ottawa 67's Day Game
The Grade 7 & 8 students at Holy Trinity have once again been invited to attend the annual Ottawa 67’s School Day Game at the arena at TD Place Lansdowne This is an exciting event that attracts many schools from the Ottawa Catholic School Board, and which promotes school spirit and community building. The date of the excursion is Wednesday, November 4. Sign up at School Cash Online by Wednesday, October 7.
France & Belgium Commemorative Vimy Trip
For current Gr. 10 - 12 students*
It is not too late to register for the 2027 Commemorative Trip to France & Belgium. In April 2027, Holy Trinity staff and students will be travelling to France and Belgium, where they will participate in the 110th Vimy Ridge Commemoration Ceremony, visiting Paris, Normandy and Belgium. This is a once-in-a-lifetime trip! Spaces are limited. Please see THIS POSTER, which contains information and the application form (QR CODE) or pick up an application in person (N213 or N205).

Volunteer Opportunities for Students
