Hello Holy Trinity families;
It was such a busy week at Holy Trinity! We began the week honouring the 2025-2026 academic achievements of our High School students. Students achieving honour roll status (80%+) received certificates on Monday. See a photo of this amazing group below! On Tuesday, during our Academic Awards ceremony, we celebrated students who distinguished themselves by attaining the top mark in their course and those who received the Trinity Award of Excellence for achieving an overall average of 90%+. Also this week, our Varsity Boys' soccer team won the Tier 1 Championships (see pic below). Way to go, boys! We are so proud of all of our students!
This week was Treaties Week. Although we are on the unceded land of the Algonquin Anishinabe peoples, it is important to learn about Treaties and Indigenous History. Our Gr. 11 students attended "Indigenous Voices" day on Wednesday where they had the opportunity to attend sessions with elders and experts on First Nations Storytelling and Language, Inuit Games, and Metis History. Special thanks to Ms. Kohlman for organizing this day! This week was also Career Week and Skilled Trades Week. Many of our Gr. 9 students had the opportunity to go to work with parents/guardians, which no doubt provided rich learning experiences.
Tomorrow (Saturday) is International Inuit Day, and we celebrate the Indigenous People of the Arctic. This Sunday is Indigenous Veterans Day, and we thank all of our Indigenous veterans for their service! Also on Sunday, for all who celebrate, we wish that Diwali brightens your life with happiness and health! Next week we will have our Remembrance Day assemblies, and Gr. 7/8 Progress Reports will go home on Thursday, November 12.
Have a great weekend!

Parents/Guardians - please remind your students to be respectful and courteous when they are out in the community before/after school (Gr. 7 - 12) or at lunch (Gr. 9-12). This includes not littering/keeping pathways, etc., clean, and maintaining respectful behaviour at all times. The school and the community thank you for reviewing this with your child(ren).
This year at Trinity, we’re offering a Nordic Ski Club for ALL grades as well as a Nordic Racing Team for high school students.
Club - Students from all grades are invited to join the club. Beginners are welcome. Students are encouraged to start looking for used equipment asap as many ski swaps are happening in the coming weeks. Skiers can choose classic or skate technique.
Team - High school students are eligible to join the racing team. Beginner, intermediate, and experienced racers are welcome to join. Races are skate technique. Two fun and competitive race days are held at Nakkertok Nordic in February.
Practices - We will begin dryland training in November for technique and conditioning. All skiers are welcome. Skiing will begin as soon as conditions allow. We will ski on the Ottawa West Winter trail and at the Kanata Nordic Ski Club (Wesley Clover Park). Our schedule will be determined by member availability.
Transportation to the trails will be via taxi. A small fee will apply to cover transportation costs. Students must be picked up from the trails by 4pm.
Please reach out to leah.daly@ocsb.ca for more information or with your questions.
In order to ensure the safety of all students, parents/guardians are required to report all absences, including those on inclement weather/bus cancellation days. When buses are cancelled due to inclement weather, schools will remain open unless otherwise notified. If your child is unable to attend school on an Inclement Weather day, please report their absence as you would on any other school day. SafeArrival should be used for reporting - enter Absent Approved (AA) with a comment of “bus cancellation” or “inclement weather”. This is an important step in ensuring every student is accounted for every day.
High School Quebec City Ski Trip ⛷️
The registration packages and SCO payments for this trip must be completed and returned to Ms. Boehm in room L213 by Friday, November 6th. Please ensure that your child's OHIP card will be up-to-date next February!! (Quebec will not accept an expired health card if an injury occurs and then the patient has to pay cash up front!).
We have had an overwhelming interest in the Toronto Trip this year and have filled all of our available spots for the trip. As a result, we would like to open a waitlist for interested students. Please note that this waitlist will serve as a first-come, first-served cancellation list should any currently registered spots open up.
If your Grade 8 student would like to be added to our waitlist, please fill out the Google Form here. We will contact parents in the order of sign-up if a spot becomes available.
For more information about trip details, please review the Parent Letter here

The rinks need awesome and able volunteers of all ages to prepare the ice, flood the rinks, and make sure everything is safe for our skaters. Grade 9 - 12 students’ examinations and Rich Summative Tasks (RSTs) WILL NOT be rescheduled for holiday or travel convenience, and all appointments should be scheduled so as not to conflict with exams and RSTs. If a medical problem arises, a Vice Principal must be contacted prior to the exam or RST. Medical certificates will be required to permit alternate arrangements for final examinations in these cases. Students and Parents/Guardians can refer to the OCSB website for the Grade 9 - 12 calendar. These calendars identify the first and last day of school, PD days, Statutory Holidays, Board Holidays, and High School exams. As a general rule, it is prudent to avoid any planned student absences during the months of January and June as this is when RSTs and exams are scheduled.
