Hello Holy Trinity families;
It's been another busy week at Holy Trinity! We had a Halloween spirit week with many staff and students participating in various activities and daily themes. Today we had our annual costume contest in the atrium, with the top two costumes from each homeroom competing. In High School, we also had the Spooky Cup buyout where the Sr. Boys Volleyball team took on the Staff team. Our Gr. 7/8 students enjoyed a Halloween dance after lunch.
Earlier this week, Ms. Donohue's and Ms. Bourke's high school classes went on an excursion downtown to visit Parliament Hill and the National Gallery. See a pic below.
November will be upon us in two days. This Sunday we remember and honour All Saints. On Monday, we observe the Solemnity of All Souls Day, where we remember all members of our families and our larger school community who have passed. November is also Indigenous History Month, Lebanese Heritage Month, Hindu Heritage Month, and Holocaust Awareness Month.
On Monday (Nov. 2) at lunch in the atrium, we are showcasing our many clubs and student associations. All students are encouraged to come out and learn more about the many, many ways to get involved! These are often the activities students remember more, long after they leave high school. Please encourage your child(ren) to consider joining a new club/association!
Wednesday (Nov. 4) will be a busy day. Our Gr. 7/8 students are heading to the Ottawa 67s game, our Gr. 9 students will be participating in "Take Our Kids to Work Day" so they will not be at school, and our Gr. 11 NBE3U/C students will be taking part in an Indigenous Voices Day all day here at school.
Have a great weekend!

As part of the Ottawa 200 anniversary celebrations, the City of Ottawa is assembling a time capsule to be opened by residents 50 years from now. Each ward Councillor has been invited to contribute meaningful items that reflect the unique character and spirit of their community.
We are proud to share that Councillor Glen Gower's office selected Holy Trinity High School to represent Stittsville!
Our students created a special item for the time capsule: a 3D-printed card box containing custom printed dice and a deck of playing cards inscribed with personal messages from our students. Thank you to Mrs. Terry and Mr. Gilmour's class for the design and creation of the card box.
We are honored to have our students' creativity and voices preserved as a piece of Stittsville's history for future generations.
This year at Trinity, we’re offering a Nordic Ski Club for ALL grades as well as a Nordic Racing Team for high school students.

Salvation Army Volunteer Opportunity
The Salvation Army is known by many for the Christmas Kettles that pop up around the holiday season to raise money for the work we do all year round. This money is raised only with the help of those in our community who give of their time to volunteer by standing at the kettle. Please see this poster for volunteer opportunities.
Need somewhere to volunteer? Easy40 brings Ottawa volunteer opportunities and organizer links together at https://easy40.ca/opportunities. Browsing is free and does not need an account. Check age requirements and follow each listing's signup instructions. An Easy40 account is not an application to an outside organizer. Grade 9 - 12 students’ examinations and Rich Summative Tasks (RSTs) WILL NOT be rescheduled for holiday or travel convenience, and all appointments should be scheduled so as not to conflict with exams and RSTs. If a medical problem arises, a Vice Principal must be contacted prior to the exam or RST. Medical certificates will be required to permit alternate arrangements for final examinations in these cases. Students and Parents/Guardians can refer to the OCSB website for the Grade 9 - 12 calendar. These calendars identify the first and last day of school, PD days, Statutory Holidays, Board Holidays, and High School exams. As a general rule, it is prudent to avoid any planned student absences during the months of January and June as this is when RSTs and exams are scheduled.
